GT // LOVE wants to homage the 'little Corvette' 50 years after its launch.
Kapitän, Admiral, Diplomat, Manta, Monza - there are many Opel with resonant names and exciting designs. But no model from the brand with the lightning bolt is so legendary as the GT.
For generations of drivers, the sports coupe is an attraction, a milestone, a cult and a dream in equal measure. It is considered the most sensational Opel of all time.
"When I was a kid and I saw the Opel GT, I knew: when I grow up, I must have this car. I have fulfilled that wish", says former Opel boss Karl-Thomas Neumann.
And Bob Lutz, automotive legend, fighter jet pilot and, as a young sales manager, responsible for starting series production of the GT, praised the authors in an interview: "The GT has a lot in common with my Alpha Jet: the comfort is not particularly good, the air conditioning weak, the luggage compartment practically non-existent. But none of this is relevant. One hour in a Jet or GT - and you'll feel completely happy. Truly rejuvenated".
"Only flying is better" was the GT's slogan. A promise that has also become true in motorsport.
