Enzo Ferrari always had a great passion for journalism, which he had practised in his youth, and for journalists themselves, often culminating in furious quarrels that would invariably end over a glass of Lambrusco and a plate of tortellini.

In 1976 he published this present volume dedicated to them, in only a thousand copies not for sale, which has now become an authentic collector's piece. Il Flobert is of great historical and cultural interest for the impressions and judgements that the Commendatore addressed to the most famous journalists of the time.

Sono semplici annotazioni, ricordi dedicati agli amici della carta stampata, sull'onda di impressioni ricevute e di episodi vissuti (They are simple annotations, memories dedicated to friends of the press, on the wave of impressions received and lived experiences). Impressions that are astonishing for their modernity and perspicacity, combined with an ironic astuteness, which shine through in the preface:

He even calls journalists "invidiati colleghi" (envied colleagues) in order to remind and ingratiate them, but also feeds them some nice "piumino" (quilts) from his Flobert. A biting, critical, cynical and highly original gallery of 52 profiles of journalists, catalogued in strict alphabetical order and who have crossed the road to Maranello and Ferrari again and again.

These include illustrious names like Enrico Benzing, Alberto Bevilacqua, Enzo Biagi, Mike Bongiorno, Ezio Pirazzini, Gianni Brera, Giovanni Lurani, Indro Montanelli and Mario Poltronieri.

Limited edition of 1,000 copies not for sale.
