It is the story of a passion for motorbikes. A flame from which she draws strength and courage to live and survive the fight for life.

For Alessia Polita, the challenges begin immediately. First a serious illness struck her when she was 3 years old, but she came out strong and determined. A young girl with all the spice, she grows up among the engines with her father and brother, who is a pilot. She loves motorbikes even more than them, and attracted by that world, at the age of 16 she chose to get on the saddle with the dream of becoming a pilot.

She took part in the 600 SS World Championship, the only woman at the start. She achieved almost every first in motorcycling and brought home victories and titles.

But suddenly, life brought her to face a bigger and unexpected challenge. On 15 June 2013, during an official practice session at Misano, she crashed at turn 16, suffering a spinal cord injury at the level of the d12 vertebrae, which forced her to live in a wheelchair. The pain of losing the use of the legs knocks her out.

It is thanks to the help of her family and fans she has met on social media that Alessia is gradually regaining her life. She has to learn to take care of herself again, to regain her independence when even the simplest daily activities become a challenge.

She jumps with a parachute, tries to race with a kart adapted to her disabilities and helps athletes who, like her, find themselves living in a wheelchair.

Her accident has brought drivers, family members and the whole world of social media back to reality, because it is through her writing that she recounts all her emotions, both good and bad, letting people know about the two sides of life, the side that goes well, made up of sacrifices but great victories, and then the other side of life that many still refuse to look at, the disability.
