Carrozzeria Touring in Milan was certainly one of the most important protagonists in the international affirmation of Italian style in automobile design and production.

Touring was active for around forty years and represented a very special phenomenon for the aesthetic coherence of its avant-garde models.

In some cases - for example, Alfa Romeo - Carrozzeria Touring was able to capture the characteristics of the marque so well that the most genuine spirit of these models could be identified in their bodies.

In other cases, the famous Superleggera constructions have enhanced the qualities of the most famous manufacturers' models: BMW's berlinetta of the 1940 Mille Miglia and Ferrari's barchettas of 1949-50, Lancia Flaminia coupés and spiders, James Bond's Aston Martins.

For many years, Felice Bianchi Anderloni, a Milanese lawyer, oversaw the projects and guided the development. After him, but in perfect harmony and continuity of style, his engineer son Carlo Felice, co-author of this book. For the first time, this book examines the vast subject in an organic manner.

The critical study of Bianchi Anderloni's work is illustrated with exceptional iconographic documentation including photographs, drawings and figurines, eight of which are reproduced in colour plates outside the text.

The entire production is documented, from the small series that entered the market to those left at the prototype stage.

A collection of works that has given Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera a durable fame and that justifies the recent return of its name to the automotive scene.
