Gigi Villoresi, now an old man, in the Casa di Riposo della Gioia e del Sole in Modena, tells his life to the woman he loves.

Now poor and infirm, in a "mechanised" wheelchair given to him by his young colleague Michael Schumacher, but happy because he has always lived life to the maximum, well aware that "la paura del pericolo è cento volte più temibile dello stesso pericolo" (the fear of danger is a hundred times more fearsome than danger itself).

Two times overall Italian Champion, he switched to Ferrari in 1950 at the same time as the birth of Formula 1. In 1954 a new adventure began for the champion with a Lancia D50 until the accident in which his friend and colleague Ascari died. His last victory is at the wheel of a Lancia Aurelia GT in the 1958 Acropolis Rally.

A Tutto Gas e Senza Freni. Gigi Villoresi: amori e dolori di un Mito tra Maserati, Ferrari e Lancia is the unedited portrait of a great champion, sometimes forgotten, who, in 1946, as Leo Turrini remarks in the foreword, crossed the ocean, invited to compete in the legendary Indianapolis 500.

Starting 28th, he finished seventh, acclaimed by the people of Indiana, who recognised, like others, a greatness not reserved to everyone.
