Dedicated to Carlo Felice Trossi, known as Didi, this volume is the first monographic and comprehensive survey of one of the most extraordinary figures in motorsport,

A man whose ceaseless activity bore a clearly defined futurist mark, characterised by an often eccentric love of adventure, a keen eye for necessary beauty (such as the design and exceptional details of a car or boat, and custom-made racing suits), and conscious technical research and conception, never intended for itself.

The well-known journalist Giovanni Canestrini described him as a thoroughbred sportsman, an incomparable friend, an intelligent and enterprising builder, passionate for automobiles, motorboats and aviation, but perhaps the most elegant and personal racing driver of his time.

Carlo Felice Trossi did not limit his activity to motor racing, but also designed innovative boats, aeroplanes and aviation competitions. In his short life, he combined his outstanding patronage with great design and entrepreneurial skills, becoming an example of avant-garde and far-sightedness.

Enzo Ferrari, who knew and frequented him for a long time both as a driver and as president and financier of the Scuderia Ferrari, wrote about him that with whimsical and easy-going nonchalance, he achieved things that others would have judged impossible, both in life and on the track and water.

Carlo Felice Trossi. Eroe incompiuto, published for the Turin exhibition (MAUTO 15/5/2025 - 28/9/2025), includes contributions by Giordano Bruno Guerri, Francesco Foppiano, Ilaria Pani and Davide Lorenzone, and Maurizio Cilli, who trace Trossi's historical path through recollections and testimonies, offering an intimate and introspective account, contextualising him in his era and comparing with figures from the world of cars, culture and industry.
