Now in its third edition (the second in English), this volume, Moto Guzzi, by Mario Colombo can be considered a classic in Italian motoring literature, as well as a successful example of editorial success.
The work, completely revised, expanded and updated, is divided into two main sections. The first, dedicated to company history and sporting events, examines both the figure of all the protagonists - from the founders to the designers, from the mechanics to the riders - and the technical and commercial evolution of the company, which was marked from the beginning by its high quality and refined manufacture.
The second section, on the other hand, consists of a complete and accurate cataloguing of the over seventy models, divided in turn into more than one hundred and fifty versions, which cover the entire range of Moto Guzzi production, including vehicles for the army and police forces, prototypes and record vehicles.
Finally, the colour portfolio in the centre of the volume presents a selection of some of the most significant examples of production and racing motorcycles preserved at the Guzzi Museum or by private owners, in a sort of ideal family gallery that provides evidence of the unchanged technical and stylistic excellence of the Mandello del Lario-based manufacturer from 1922 to the present day.
To complete a work of this kind, a chronology of production and chassis numbers, within the limits imposed by the documentation that still exists, could not be missing, in other words the most sought-after information by the many enthusiasts of the marque.
