In this book, published in 1972, with the collaboration of the Federazione Motociclistica Italiana, author Enzo Mazzi has collected the fundamentals for those who wish to approach the practice of this fascinating motorbike discipline, that, after the Second World War, became enormously popular throughout Europe, and also in Italy.

The introduction, which outlines a brief history, is followed by a technical part, in which the physical and psychological preparation of the motocross rider is examined.

After explaining the bureaucratic formalities to be fulfilled in order to join the motocross family, illustrating the types of competitions and mechanical means, the author deals with the physiology of the motocross rider, emphasising the importance of a healthy diet and the so-called "food preparation", which is the basis of sporting success. Some examples of diets increase the usefulness of the chapter.

A following chapter deals with individual athletic preparation, also of the utmost importance, which can be performed both at home and in a gym, by way of some simple and effective gymnastic exercises.

Finally, the section on riding exercises includes training on the motocross tracks, starting, jumping, curves and some practical tips.

Motocross - Preparazione e Tecnica fits perfectly into the tradition of the didactic and informative manuals that were so popular in the sixties and seventies.
